Things You Need to Know

FAD (Final Add Day) - Students can't add classes to their schedule after the FAD has passed. Check the College calendar for specific enrollment dates per semester.

Class Attendance - Attendance is expected.  Students that don't attend class (or log in to an online course) the first week of class will be administratively dropped from the course. If a student misses five consecutive days of class and does not contact a Manhattan Tech faculty or staff member, the student may be administratively withdrawn from the course.

Registration Agreement - The registration agreement is required prior to enrollment each semester. The registration agreement details the student's responsibility regarding courses they are enrolled in and financial obligations. After logging in to MATC Online, the registration agreement is on the right side of the  home page screen under Course Schedules.

Personal Info Update - The personal info update is required prior to enrollment each semester. The personal info update ensures current contact information is on file for each student should time-sensitive communication need to be made.  

FERPA - Manhattan Tech is not able to to give out any information regarding grades, schedule, GPA, financial aid, etc., to anyone other than the student without the student's written consent. FERPA Consent Forms are available online.  

Dropping/Withdrawing from a Class - Meet with an advisor to complete a Drop/Add or Withdrawal Request Form. The form must be completed and received in the Student Services Office by the 5th day of classes for the fall and spring (full semester courses) and by the 2nd day of classes for the summer to drop a course.* In order to withdraw from a course, the same form must be filled out and received in the Student Services Office prior to 75% of the course being completed for the semester. 

*Classes that are less than nine weeks have different requirements.  See catalog and Enrollment Calendar.  

Non-payment - Students might be dropped from their courses if they haven't made arrangements or a payment for their tuition and fees by the 10th day of classes for the fall or spring semester and the 5th day of classes for the summer semester. Payments are accepted online.  Payment plans are available.  

Email - Check your email daily if possible or at least 3 times per week.  Email is the official form of communication of Manhattan Tech.  

Textbooks - Manhattan Tech partners with eCampus Bookstore to provide textbooks for students.  eCampus Bookstore can be accessed within MATC Online. After students are enrolled, student schedules may be used to identify required textbooks. 

Transcripts - Manhattan Tech requires an official transcript from each College or Institution from which a students has transfer credit.  

Free Tutoring - Free tutoring is available to all Manhattan Tech students in the Teaching and Learning Center (TLC). Students may schedule tutoring appointments either by going to the TLC or emailing:  tlc@manhattantech.edu

Financial Aid - Students must be enrolled in 12 program-required credit hours (or more) to be full time and enrolled in at least 6 credit hours to access aid for which the student is eligible. Contact the Financial Aid Office for more information, financialaid@manhattantech.edu 

Placement Testing - Students are placed into their math and writing courses based on their test scores from the ACT, Compass or Accuplacer. Students may schedule an Accuplacer test online: testing center.
