Workforce Development and Customized Training
MATC has developed training programs designed to develop and maintain a high quality workforce in our region.
We can tailor any of our courses to meet the unique needs of your organization, or we can develop training specifically for your company. Contact the Workforce Development Director at 785-587-2800 x4125.
Custom Training
Custom Training can be arranged by the Workforce Development Center to meet your specific employee needs. This instruction can be closely targeted to your workplace needs using your specific applications. Depending on your employees' career development needs, instruction can be offered with certification or college credit. Courses can be offered on-site at your business or at Manhattan Area Technical College.
Wide range of training topics: Choose from among these popular training topics, or we'll develop training to meet your unique needs.
Grant programs are available through the Kansas Department of Commerce and Housing to help with training costs for qualifying companies. The Workforce Development Center will assist your company in securing training funds from different sources including the Kansas Industrial Retraining (KIR) and the Kansas Industrial Training (KIT) grants. Firms engaged in manufacturing, distribution, service, transportation, and tourism, are some of the basic industries that qualify. More information is available at www.kansascommerce.com.
MATC offers a variety of affordable, convenient, highly interactive online courses you can take entirely over the Internet. Check out the classes here.

Welding Skills Development Training
This is short-term training provided on an ongoing open entry-exit basis. As a competency-based program, instructors assess the progress of each participant and their readiness to meet qualification requirements and employer expectations. Participants will be required to complete MATC enrollment forms and pay tuition prior to the start of their training.
Assessment to determine the appropriate level of training will occur by appointment. Please call Wes Chambers at MATC (785-587-2800 x4401) to sign up for a skills assessment. Participants should bring their own personal gear (helmets, gloves, leathers) if possible; MATC will provide gear for participants who do not own their own.
