Therese Adams is the broker/owner of Coldwell Banker Realty Group One with husband Kelly Adams. She has been a Licensed Realtor since 1995 and holds real estate designations of ABR (Accredited buyers representative) CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) and GRI (Graduate Real Estate Institute). Therese currently serves on the Manhattan Association of Realtors Board of Directors and the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She has a Bachelor degree in Marketing from Moorhead State University in Moorhead, MN. Therese grew up in North Dakota prior to moving to Manhattan, KS 20 years ago. She and Kelly have two sons; Nicholas & Kevin.
Randall Anderes - 4 year term - Expires June 30, 2015
Randall J. Anderes is currently Community Bank President of INTRUST Bank of Manhattan. Randall has been in banking for over 30 years in Kansas City, Hutchinson, and Manhattan, Kansas. During his career he has been involved in numerous positions including Trust, Commercial Lending and Administration. He is involved in numerous community activities including the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Economic Development Committee. He is also a board member of the Mercy Regional Health Foundation, Friends of the K-State Libraries and Manhattan Area Technical College. Randall and his wife, Elaine, and daughter Joslen have lived in Manhattan for 11 years.
David Bradley - 4 year term - Expires June 30, 2016
David K. Bradley retired as chief executive officer of Geary Community Hospital in 2012 after 17 years at its helm. During his tenure, he coordinated many building projects, including an 110,000 sq. ft. expansion that provided the community new state-of-the-art intensive care and medical/surgical units as well as a new surgery center. He also built a new medical arts building, expanded the existing building and reshuffled offices and services so that the key patient-centered services were grouped so as to be the most convenient for patients. It was due to Bradley that Geary Community Hospital was the first in the state to do bariatric surgery and that other innovative and community-focused services began to keep patients in Junction City for care. A small sampling of the services he started include geropsychiatric care unit, hospice, a home medical equipment store, sleep studies, outpatient dialysis, chemotherapy, inpatient rehabilitation unit, occupational health clinic, and most recently, AlphaCare, a walk-in, minor emergency clinic. He is known as a well read visionary who excels at short and long term strategic planning, always mindful of why his institution is in business: to serve and keep patients. Bradley is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has more than 45 years of experience in healthcare administration. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in economics from North Dakota State University in 1964. He received a master’s degree in public administration from Iowa State University in 1981. He is a retired colonel from the United States Army Reserves. Bradley and his wife Joyce live on their Arabian horse ranch in southern Geary County.
Marla Brandon, Board Chair - 4 year term - Expires June 30, 2015
Marla is the Senior Accountant for K-State Athletics in Manhattan, KS. She is also an adjunct instructor at Highland Community College and a past adjunct instructor at Kansas State University. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management degree from Friends University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Baker University. She is a former member of several civic organizations and has served as a member on a strategic planning committee for USD 320.
Judy Crymble - 4 year term - Expires June 30, 2016
Currently retired, Judy served as Dean of Technical Education at Garden City Community College and most recently as Interim Dean of Instruction at Salina Area Technical College. Of her 48 years in education, the last 22 years have focused on Kansas’ technical education programming. She coordinated the state’s first Tech Prep program and served as School-to-Career coordinator for USD 457, Garden City Public Schools. Judy received the AVA Special Vocational Award Friend of Technical Education in 1997 and the Carl Perkins Humanitarian Award in 2001. In 2007 she received the KCWE Leadership Inside the Field award. Judy has provided leadership for a variety of educational partnership activities among the western Kansas community colleges, SW Kansas Technical School, and SW Plains Regional Service Center. She served on the local Finney County Career Learning System steering committee, as secretary for the Western Kansas One Stop Board, and was chairperson of the Kansas Advisory Committee for Career and Technical Education. Judy worked part-time for the Kansas Board of Regents as part of their curriculum alignment leadership team. She was a member of K-ACTE and KCWE. She received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Elmira College in New York, her Masters in Education Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming, and earned her Certificate of Endorsement in K-12 Administration from Fort Hays State University. Judy and husband Bill moved to Clay Center when they retired to spend time spoiling their grandchildren. Judy volunteers as a grandparent in the schools helping students who need extra encouragement.
Dr. Todd Frieze - 4 year term - Expires July 1, 2015
Todd Frieze is a board certified family physician currently practicing family medicine at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. He also has a part-time clinic in Chapman Kansas. Dr. Frieze received a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the University of Kansas in 1995, and graduated from KU Medical School in 1999.
John Pagen - 4 year term - Expires June 30, 2015
John Pagen is the Vice President of Economic Development for the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce. Prior to joining the Chamber in 2004 John was the Materials Manager at Transportation Design & Manufacturing. He has lived in Manhattan since 1997. John is originally from Michigan, with a Bachelor degree in Business from Michigan State University and an Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. After graduation he worked at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn as a financial analyst at their corporate training facility. It was there that he met his wife, Amy, also a Ford employee. She earned her Ph.D. at Kansas State, and as they would come back to the area they realized this would be a great place to live. Amy was hired at K-State, and John followed and was able to work at Transportation Design & Manufacturing. Together they have one son; John Doyle. John knows first-hand the appeal of Manhattan, and why so many people enjoy calling it home. He looks forward to working with Manhattan Area Technical College and helping the economy of Manhattan continue to diversify, so all people who want to stay in town can find good jobs.
Megan Umscheid - 4 year term - Expires June 30, 2018
Megan Umscheid is the Executive Director of the Wamego Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitor's Bureau. Prior to working in Wamego, Megan served as the Project Coordinator for the Office of the President at Kansas State University for 4 years after teaching and coaching in the USD 378 public school system for 2 years. Umscheid earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University and her Master of Arts in Education degree from Baker University. She is a member of several civic organizations and volunteers her time to community events and initiatives. Megan and her husband Adam enjoy spending time with their son, Jackson.
Tom Weigand - 4 year term - Expires June 30, 2018
Tom Weigand is currently President/CEO of the Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce. Responsibilities include overseeing the divisions of Chamber Activities; Convention and Visitors Bureau, Economic Development Council and the Military Affairs Council. Weigand has over twelve years’ experience in chamber management and economic development work. He is a licensed real estate agent in Kansas and Missouri for the last 24 years with experience primarily in industrial and commercial real estate in the Kansas City area. His board experience includes: past county commissioner in Franklin County; has served on the board of directors of KCAMP which insures assets and liabilities of counties within the state of Kansas; serves on Heartland Works LWIB board of directors for over 15 years; past board member of Franklin Savings Association serving in that position ten years; served three year term on the Chamber of Commerce Executives of Kansas and many other local boards from cooperatives, parish councils, etc. Weigand is a member of Rotary, twice serving as President of his club. He has been married to his wife, Mary for over 46 years. They have four grown children; two are graduates of KSU, one graduated from Benedictine College and one from Baker University. They are the proud grandparents of nine.
